Summaries and Customer Reviews are supplied by Amazon.com "Shoot," I muttered when the paper sliced my finger; I pulled it out to examine the damage. A single drop of blood oozed from the tiny cut. It all happened very quickly then. Edward threw himself at me, flinging me back across the table... I tumbled down to the floor by the piano, with my arms thrown out instinctively to catch my fall, into the jagged shards of glass. I felt the searing, stinging pain that ran from my wrist to the crease inside my elbow. Dazed and disoriented, I looked up from the bright red blood pulsing out of my arm-into the fevered eyes of the six suddenly ravenous vampires. Legions of readers entranced by Twilight are hungry for more and they won't be disappointed. In New Moon, Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural twist. The "star-crossed" lovers theme continues as Bella and Edward find themselves facing new obstacles, including a devastating separation, the mysterious appearance of dangerous wolves roaming the forest in Forks, a terrifying threat of revenge from a female vampire and a deliciously sinister encounter with Italy's reigning royal family of vampires, the Volturi. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality. Twilight Series...Stephanie Meyer | Customer Rating: | | New Moon is a really great book! I'm waaay past "young adult" and still have enjoyed this series so far. | New Moon by: Stephenie Meyer | Customer Rating: | Bought book for gift and recipient was very happy with this gift. Book arrived quickly and in excellent condition. Would purchase again for reading or a gift. Keep up the good work. | Fantastic!! | Customer Rating: | The sequel to Twilight did not disappoint. When I read Host, I loved the book and couldn't wait to read more from this talented author. I purchased the four Twilight Saga books.
I've enjoyed them all. This author writes from a first person prespective and you come to love the characters, especially the teenage heroine who shares the self-consciousness of her co-horts and her weaknesses and foibles (she is the definition of clutz). Through each successive book you see her mature and develop into a wonderful adult heroine.
This series is alive with monsters, many of whom I came to love.
I can't wait to see what Stephanie Meyer has in store for us next. | Still Loving the Saga | Customer Rating: | | The first book of the series, "Twilight", got me hooked immediately. The second book, "New Moon", has kept me hooked, and now I can't wait to read the third! This series has been a refreshing departure from the norm. | My least favorite book in the the series | Customer Rating: | | I want to preface this review by saying that I love, love, love this series. I am quite a bit older than the "average" fan of the books (39), but I still find them addictive and engrossing. That being said, this is by far my least favorite of the four books. I plead guilty to being a complete fangirl for Edward (I'm a huge vampire fan), so the fact that he was barely present in New Moon put a serious damper on the plot for me. I don't find Jacob very interesting. In fact, his immaturity (especially compared to Edward) stands out far too much here. I found myself skimming over chunks of the text, something I would never have dreamt of doing with any of the other books. It's important to read all of the books to get the real "flavor" of the series and understand everything that happens, but this one was kind of a chore for me. |
