Nice book, but lacks projects

When I bought the book I expected it to contain crafts projects. It does contain some, but not as expected. HOwever, I liked the book. It gave a different insight on family relations through art. It also contains some very nice ideas about the practical side of practicing craft at home- storage, where to find materials and seek inspiration, how to arrange art area at home.

I really enjoyed this book, so much so that I couldn't put it down and read it within a day! I felt a real "light bulb" moment when she wrote about nurturing your own creative side which will inturn bring more satisfaction and joy to your life. I have always known and felt that I need to be creative and really wanted to share this love or need with my children and Amanda gives some fantastic ideas. We now have regular family drawing time and although my children are still very young I already see how much they enjoy this time together. I cannot recommend highly enough this book which I will be regularly referring to as my children grow.
Not enough of anything helpful

I love [...] and thought this book would be great. It was ok. Some people seem to need a road map on how to raise their kids...if that's what you need...this book is for you. It will detail for you all the things you should be doing...some simple and cute...some a bit ridiculous. I love the themes of nature, crafting, family fun and slow and more concious living. There were a couple of cute ideas that I read while flipping through. But it was REALLY tedious to read...though I did. It might be something cute for a soon-to-be mom who doesn't really have any experience. But if you were raised right and have a clue as to how to raise kids then most of this will come naturally. For those of you who don't need parenting lessons...just glance through the book at the bookstore for the crafting ideas. Everything else is fluff. But do check out her blog...much more interesting and inspirational.

I enjoyed this book almost as much as her other one. It is an excellent resource, and just a wonderful read.
