Summary

A no-nonsense guide that shows how to make quick, efficient work of getting beautiful, high-quality, cutting-edge, and traditional shots from the pre-ceremony through the reception, this manual offers techniques for capturing the key players and moments of the big day. Unlike other photography books that present a more theoretical or technical approach to photographing a wedding, this resource focuses on the specific steps photographers should take, streamlining their process for effective management at the wedding. A recommended time line shows when to photograph the various portrait the clients expect after the ceremony—the bride and groom, best man and groom, maid of honor and bride, couple and their parents, attendants, extended family, and others. Simple technical tips for supplementing existing light and setting up and orchestrating the many shots accurately and effortlessly are also included.

Excellent!

Loved this book! Beautiful images with quick, easy to understand information on how Damon captured them, including composition, camera settings, poses to think about, ideas and inspiration about how to get beautiful, out of the ordinary shots, "money" shots and tips from an established pro (Damon). Great book! I'm not a wedding photographer but wanted to get some great shots for a friend and this book was very helpful. I'll continue reading and practicing using the tips in this book.

A Beautiful Book

Even if the information weren't clear, concise, and nicely presented (not to mention very useful) this would still be wonderful book--the photographs are that good. Tucci's style is so vibrant and colorful, it just gets you excited about getting out there and trying something new. A great book from a great photographer and teacher.

Great Choice!

This is a good starting point for wedding photography; it touches on an overview of the ins & outs of the basics. I read this before my first wedding shoot (an informal, almost "practice" wedding -the brides 3rd time around) & I noticed things like the "Aunt Edna" syndrome coming into play, where everyone thinks their a photographer & wants to "help". By far planning is key & this book helps you to do so! That being said, this book would be most helpful for the beginning wedding photographer (but not necessarily for the beginning photographer).

Intro To Weddings

Rating: Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5

This book makes a great starting point for anyone entering the field of wedding photography. The author explains the entire process from meeting with the bride to shooting on the day.

His style is distinctive. He prefers natural lighting to flash and his posing is interesting and edgey. This is a hybrid of photojournalism and fashion photography. Meticulously posed bridal images that appear to be candid. Nicely create and composed images. I certainly recommend this book.
