So far so good. I'm still reading the book. It's taking me a long time b/c i don't want to breeze through the chapters. I'm putting into practice the advice Mr. Chapman is giving. Some things are hard to accept but i think it's worth it.

Reading this book not only gave me insight into my relationships with others, but it helped me understand myself. It's not every day that we find useful insights like these. Gary Chapman uses real life experience and humor in his books.

Dr. Chapman has developed a very nice paradigm of 5 love languages, or ways we communicate (give/receive) love in intimate relationships (specifically, marriage). He shows, very clearly via real-world experience in treating patients, just how effective this knowledge is when applied correctly. In other words, anyone can be more effective in loving another person by just understanding how that person feels loved, or which "love language" they understand best or are lacking etc.
He does a better job of explaining it in the book, of course, and that's way he's Dr. Chapman, but I find his methods to be wonderfully easy to apply with just a minimal amount of self-discipline. And even better, he isn't afraid to share his own experiences and personal struggles and growth. Truly essential information, if you care to make your relationships as meaningful as possible in this lifetime. The book even comes with the necessary tools for "husbands" or "wives" to determine their individual, primary (and secondary etc.) love language(s). Know the "language" you feel most loved in, and that of your partner, too!
