Summaries and Customer Reviews provided by Amazon
SummaryIn his first book for adults, New York Times bestselling author Hill Harper invites you to join the Conversation: an honest dialogue about the breakdown of African—American relationships. For generations African Americans have turned to their families in times of need—but now, this proud and strong legacy is in peril. Black men and women have stopped communicating effectively and it threatens the very relationships and marriages necessary to sustain the Black family. Today, less than a third of Black children are being raised in two—parent households, a sharp decline from past generations. So, why is it so difficult for Black men and women to build long—term, loving and mutually beneficial relationships? What is happening in the community that makes it so hard for women and men to find their way to each other? And why are there so few people who manage to hold a marriage together, even after finding a person to love? |

The Conversation Hill Harper
After reading this book I have a better understanding why my past relationships haven't worked. I used to think maybe it was something I said or done. When in fact, it could very well had been that the particular man I was involved with had his own inadequacy and insecurities.
Loving the book
it's nice to read this book and see all of the different views between black men and black women. it makes me think about how i view relationships. i would definitely recommend this book to a friend.
Mediocre at best :-(
His insight was nothing revealing. I was very dissapointed. The marriage chapter definitely should have been more insightful. Instead it was just a short blurb of men discussing absolutely nothing pertaining to helping women understand why men drag their feet on marriage. Hill Harper comes across as such an arrogant know it all with a bloated ego. Who died and made him the world's advisor on everything?? He did his race a disservice with this book. There was nothing at all remotely interesting inside of it. Every chapter was a let down. He needs to stick to acting. This was a bore! I want my money back!!
Excellent Customer Service
As always, Amazon delivered the product in a timely manner and in great condition. Thanx Amazon
A Great Read
This has been a great book thus far. African American relationships are on a downturn and it was refreshing to see the take Harper took getting opinions from both sexes from different walks of like. This is my first book that I have read of his and will continue to support him as an author.
