Customer Reviews
Average Rating:
I yearn to quote a few sentences
So I am just quoting a few sentences picked by opening the book on a random page and pointing a finger at random paragraph.
"You can allow your body and heart to surrender open so large that you feel and breathe the openness of love that yearns at the heart of everyone"
"Love's true offering emerges from deepest yearning as various desires simultaneously occupy your heart"
"Reflect to him how his "offness" hurts you and affect your heart"
"One key to cultivating a deep relationship is to always express deepest yearning through primary emotion that emerges from your open heart"
"Most men you know probably hold back, from your emotions and from life chaos"
"Offer your feminine sexual energy through your depest heart's yearning"
"But there ARE deep men out there"
"Your body is alive with life and juicy with sex"
"Only love - the love that yearns open at the heart of all beings, the divine love that lives open as this entire moment - is worthy of total trust"
I really like the idea that "there ARE deep men out there", but all in all I YEARN for all this to end.
BTW, Mr. Deida, have you ever kissed a girl?
Men should not write this type of book about women..
I loved The Way of the Superior Man but this was way over the top and very very difficult to read and way to much stuff repeated.
Book Club Bomb
This book was not at all what we expected. This was our all female book club choice and many of us were unable to finish the book. Personally, the true substance I got out of the book I found very valuable, but I feel he could have gotten that message out in a newsletter of a few pages. Otherwise, the book was so repetitive and redundant with a few good points and quotes hidden in the midst of a lot of fluff.
Many of us are inspired to check out some of his other works, however, which we hope has more concrete exercises of how to achieve the ways of attainment that he delivered so vaguely in this particular book.
Dear Lover review
David Deida has an excellent handle on the differences between men and women. And how to use this understanding to complement one another in a spiritual / sexual partnership. Good information.
If you truly love her...
Foa all men who truly love their girlfriend... A man must be brave to open in the way Deeida explains. He must be truly brave. Fear keeps our hearts closed and confessing this to your "dear lover" is not for the timid or ego driven sould that populate our world. This book is for the woman brave enough to open her heart, to forgive, to understand, to nurture and to love truly. Men who read this will find the deepest truth in black and white... and it's scary. Men who are brave enough to face their own hearts and who love the woman in their life should buy it and read it... read it again and contemplate everything. I read this with my own "dear lover" as well. May our hearts continue to open.
