Journey back Home
This is a must read for anyone interested in learning more about our spiritual force and how to connect with it. Hawkins intelligently conveys what we have always intuitively known but likely dismissed as a result of our conditioning and enviroment. Insightful, thought provoking and a useful companion to personal growth .
One of my top 10
You can't argue with truth! This book is written in easy flowing language, but you'll want a dictionary nearby to expand your power vocabulary. What it explains is the history of "goodness" (from sadistic to sainthood) and how anything or anyone can be ranked on a scale of 1 to 1000. You'll devour it and then be tempted to order another follow up book of your choice (which I did). You'll also be tempted to find a person to try out kinesiological experiments with. Buy it now. It's a mind opener and a life changer.
~Greg M. Dougall, author of The Upward Spiral series
My top 5 favorite practical self improvement authors are:
Og Mandino- The Greatest Salesman in the World
Tony Robbins- Awaken the Giant Within
David Hawkins- Power vs. Force
Kiyosaki- Rich Dad Poor Dad series
Napoleon Hill - How to, Laws of Success, TAGR
In my opinion, these are pretty much all you need to carry you through any undertaking.

A friend of mine mailed me this book and I read every page. I had to in order to base a meeting of the Skeptics of Tucson on its contents. After I covered the massive quantity of extraordinary claims made by the author, we tried to perform a simple double blind test to validate the claim that muscle testing will convince Skeptics. (I'd give you a page reference but I gave the book back to the person who sent it to me.) Here are some of the claims: Consciousness has perfect sensitivity (10^-infinity). In one example, he claims detections to 10^-750 micro Watts and notes the incredible difference to 10^-35 micro Watts. In theory that might be a huge difference but given the fact that nothing in the universe could possibly detect 10^-35 micro Watts comparing the two numbers is rather silly. In chapter VI (a chapter with calibration level 710) he makes a factual error. He states that Thomas Edison tried 1600 items before settling on tungsten as the filament in his prototype light bulbs. Thomas Edison's solution after all those trials was carbon and ultimately carbon on Bamboo. He never used tungsten. Add that minor technical flaw to the extraordinary claim that Edison could have found the solution much more quickly had he known about muscle testing and one wonders how he could have rated his chapter at a calibrated 710.
Extraordinary claims about consciousness calibration: The average calibration for the world population, that's everyone in the world, is according to Dr. Hawkins 204. Only 4 above 200 which is a pivot point between Force (bad) and Power (good). There are only 12 people in the world that calibrate to 700 according to Dr. Hawkins and they counterbalance one Avatar calibrated to 1000. Dr. Hawkins believes that, through muscle testing, he can determine these facts with certainty.
There are hundreds of other examples I could give you but to a Skeptic this book is not worth much. To a person that wants to believe is such tripe, it may be considered reaffirming. One of the questions that I got from my group after I reviewed the book was, "How did you get through it?" My answer was that it was difficult to stomach but I completed the task so that I could speak from the knowledge of having read it.
Don't buy this book. Applied Kinesiology doesn't work. The very basis of the "science" is rooted in unsupportable claims and magical thinking.
It should be a new book and came used!
I was sure I picked a new book and I was suprised when I saw used book!!!
I will keep it but my goal was to make this book as a gift. I had to buy second one in book store!
Zero stars if an option
I have read MANY wonderful books as I travel my path, from CIM, Goldsmith, Lanyon, I AM THAT, Tolle, Disappearance, even some Abe-Hicks..... etc. This book is OFF.
Why/how would anyone try to "calibrate" Truth ?? Come on. Whatever your spiritual text...it's value is ONLY in it's capacity to awaken Truth IN YOU. I am NOT saying Truth is variable, but the words a person can "hear" and that will call forth insights leading to the Truth (which can only be found within) are variable...therefore no one else's calibration of "spiritual" text could be meaningful to anyone, except possibly themselves. Various books/words may serve that purpose for different individuals. How could someone outside of you determine the Truth "pointing value" a certain text would have for YOU? The "calibration" would vary depending on the reader and what it elicited in him/her. I have not read any other bks by Hawkins. IF you were going to try to use this kinesiology system...you'd have to use YOUR own calibration...not Hawkins's or anyone elses! He may have had an enlightenment experience, but apparently lost touch with it. The only thing this book "offered" me was an opportunity for forgiveness. An perhaps that is important for me to attend to.
