Summaries and Customer Reviews provided by Amazon
SummaryFifteen years after his #1 New York Times bestseller, Ageless Body, Timeless Mind, Deepak Chopra revisits "the forgotten miracle"–the body's infinite capacity for change and renewal. You cannot take advantage of this miracle, Chopra says, unless you are willing to completely reinvent your body, transforming it from a material object to a dynamic, flowing process. "Your physical body is a fiction," Chopra contends. Every cell is made up of two invisible ingredients: awareness and energy. |

excellent book, like all the others ...
Dr. Chopra's books are always enlightening and easy to follow. i am a big fan of his philosophy of life.
Another Deepak winner
I opened this book in the middle and it was right where I needed to read. I am savoring the lessons of this book. I recommend it.
Loving Your Body and Soul
"Your immune system gets stronger or weaker in response to being in a loving or unloving relationship." ~ pg. 9
It seems there is no end to Deepak Chopra's creativity, as he seems to write new books at an astonishing rate. I've read enough of his books to have gained a general understanding of what he believes and why. "Reinventing The Body, Resurrecting The Soul" takes about six hours to read (at least it took me double the time I normally take to read one of his books) but in that time you will feel very understood. Part of the magic of Deepak's writing is that he has the ability to guide your soul through a process of change so you come away with tangible ways to make your life more fulfilling. I also found the stories in this book to be especially magical.
This book is in some way mainly about spiritual evolution. There are some excellent points made about the contrast between the soul and the ego. By reading this book you will gain a deeper understanding about how you are living your life and what you are doing to either respect or disrespect your soul. Deepak Chopra also emphasizes that it is important to look after the body. He promotes the idea that physical activity and an active intellectual life will keep you younger.
"If you want to change your body, a change in awareness must come first." ~ pg. 51
While for most of the book I felt I was agreeing with the main ideas I found the last idea Deepak presents to be far from believable. While it is true that parents have the power to create a new life I don't think humans originally created themselves. He asks the question: "Who made me" and answers it with "I made myself."
It is true that throughout this book Deepak makes statements that Christians will question. He does however note that they are going to object. In all honesty I think both Deepak Chopra and his editor made sure to remove most of the objectionable things that could have been in this book. There are very few New Age ideas and quite a few Buddhist and Christian ideas thrown into the mix. Christians will of course disagree with the statements about everyone being part of one big universal soul and that the soul does not need salvation. Deepak's ideas about how the soul helps us relate to God are however interesting.
I think anyone of any religion can benefit from this book and I don't think it will change any of your major beliefs. For me at least I found this book comforting and encouraging. For the most part this is a book about how to love your body and soul and how to reach a stage where you experience unconditional love and acceptance. You may even come away from this book feeling like it was written just for you.

Reinventing the Body, Resurrecting the Soul by Deepak Chopra
Brillant! Brillant! At my age of 57, this book is exactly what I needed to make the most of my talents and my health now, to live my best life in awareness!
Find your own way to create New You
I am actually somehow disappointed with this book. Maybe it is because I read too many of Chopra's previous books and I expected another great reading but I got just a good reading instead. Hence only 4 stars...
Having said that, we all must admit that Deepak Chopra is a great teacher of holistic healing and one of the best propagators of the idea of mind-body connection. In this book the author offers a good plan to get in touch with your soul and energy to heal your body and to promote good health and longevity.
It is a good reading for people to learn about natural healings, contemplation and meditation. Good reading about changes in diet and lifestyle resulting from changes in consciousness. For more about reinventing your body, physical and mental health and longevity I suggest reading other Chopra's books as well as a great book by a less accomplished author titled "Cn we live 150 Years."
