Everything we've had has been fabulous!
I made the Tempeh Shawarmas in the Vegan Table cookbook last night. First time using Tempeh---and my husband loved it! He said it may be the best meal he's ever had---and that it was ALMOST better than sex (almost...)! He wants them next week too!
We've tried at least 20 of the recipes from here, and every one of them has been fantastic.

I LOVE this cookbook!
As a newbie vegan, this was my first vegan cookbook purchase and I couldn't have made a better choice. It's informative and the easy to follow recipes include accessible ingredients. The food is absolutely delicious, the book is beautiful and it seriously never gets put away! This is so good it prompted me to quickly pick up Colleen's The Joy of Vegan Baking: The Compassionate Cooks' Traditional Treats and Sinful Sweets which also lives at my fingertips and is my vegan baking bible! These great cookbooks have made my vegan transition effortless and enjoyable :)
Living off this book! Wonderful recipes!
I own a lot of vegan/vegetarian cookbooks, and this is, by far, my favorite. I have to also admit that this is the first cookbook I have ever actually read. Usually I just dive in and start cooking. Colleen offers great tips and inspiration for vegans and friends and family of vegans. She delivers her message in a very classy and informed manner that we can all learn from.
Our family has decided to pick one cookbook per week and choose recipes from that for the week. When I set out to make my first recipe (Tofu Spinach Lasagna) from this book, I have to admit I did not think it would be very tasty because it was so simple and easy to make. But I was so pleasantly surprised once we sat down to dinner. I am a huge lasagna fan and loved this recipe more than any cheese-filled lasagna I've ever tried.
We have been living from this cookbook ever since! Every time I flip through I find another recipe I am dying to try. I have been a vegetarian for 20 years and a vegan for about one year. My husband just joined me and has also been very pleased with the recipes. We just made the "Curried Better-Than-Chicken Salad" and couldn't get enough. I can't wait to try the "Old Fashioned Lentil Loaf."
Love this book and highly recommend it!
Fabulous!
This book is a work of art from the gorgeous photographs to the catchy menu titles. It's a joy to read, and I am creating beautiful and flavorful dishes (this is shocking for anyone who knows my cooking skills)! Chock full of valuable information and helpful tips, The Vegan Table is a must-have for any kitchen.
Not So Good
I bought this book based on the great reviews. I have made three different recipes so far and two were awful and ended up getting tossed. The third recipe, for lentil pate, was okay, but not great. The book is pretty and easy to read, but, so far, the recipes are nowhere near the quality of Veganomicon.
