Easy Dieting

My husband & I have been on the South Beach diet and I have really liked this companion cookbook. The recipes have been very easy to cook and we've have enjoyed every recipe that we've tried. I can see that once we have reached our weight goal I will be able to continue using recipes from this book for maintenace purposes.

Great recipes if you are following this diet, or even if you are not. Book in near perfect condition, I am very happy with purchase. Wife stated "just what I wanted!"

I had read the reviews on this cookbook before ordering. They were very complimentary on how easy the recipes were and how tasty. They were right on with their reviews!!!

Does what it says it will do

This book does exactly what it says it's going to do. There are plenty of Phase 1 recipes and they actually taste good. Also, all the recipes I've tried take 30 minutes or less as promised. The only exception was the lentils, which took a little longer. This could be avoided by allowing them to soak an hour or so before starting to cook.

It's important to note that I do not like to cook. I had not prepared a meal from scratch in years. I will not stick to SB if I have to spend more than 30 minutes cooking. So this book has been integral to my success.

So far, my favorite recipes are the beef chili, the baked tomatoes, and the lentils and the chicken curry (especially mixed together).

I love this recipe book and I will continue to use it long after I have completed the diet.

I really like this cookbook. The recipes are really tasty and easy to make. They are also recipes that you can make even if you're not following the South Beach diet. My parents had a look at the book and found a few recipes they thought looked good and tried them out, and they're not following the diet. There is something for everyone in the book, including dessert which with most diets you're not allowed to have but that the South Beach diet encourages you to have. Awesome!

The only problem I found is that some (and this is only a small amount) of the recipes seemed to only have a few ingredients in them, such as the Mexican Soup which made it seem less like a soup and more like tomato broth with chicken floating around in...boring. So the next time I made it I addded a couple of extra things such as black beans and peas (you could add corn instead of peas if on you're on phase 3 which is the maintenance phase). This made it seem more like a soup yet still keeping it in line with the diet.
