Summaries and Customer Reviews provided by Amazon
SummaryThe Clans are in turmoil. ShadowClan has turned its back on StarClan and pledged to follow the dark predictions of Sol, the strange cat who foretold the solar eclipse. But not all the cats have lost faith in their warrior ancestors. . . . Jaypaw is convinced that StarClan still holds an important place in the warrior code, and his search for answers leads him far back into the past, farther back than even StarClan can remember. Lionblaze, tortured by violent dreams and bloody visions, wishes he had never been prophesied to be one of the three but to turn his back on his littermates would be the ultimate betrayal. And Hollyleaf is terrified that once the Clans lose their faith, the warrior code will fall apart. She's willing to fight tooth and nail to preserve it—whatever the cost. And when murder stalks into the heart of ThunderClan, the cats realize that the darkest shadows don't always lie outside the territory. |

Reading for Kids
This is a great book and easily purchased to keep the summer reading going for a "young reader."
Puurrrfectly Brilliant! by J.C. From Annapolis
The book Long Shadows is puurrrfectly brilliant and can attract any ones attention. In this story, a group of cats called Shadowclan are turned away from their warrior ancestors by a cat named Sol. It is the goal of three cats, Hollyleaf, Lionblaze, and Jaypaw, to turn them back before Shadowclan is lost forever. The author of this amazing book and all the rest of the Warriors saga is Erin Hunter. Will the three siblings succeed or will Shadow clan be lost? The setting of this novel is during the time when wild cats roamed the forest in the clans' lake home. Hollyleaf, Lionblaze, and Jaypaw are the main characters. Hollyleaf is a loyal, obedient, and logical female who has good leadership skills. Lionblaze is an ambitious, powerful male who is always looking for an opportunity to sharpen his claws. Jaypaw is a wise male who is blind but has an extraordinary connection with Starclan. He has a very short temper. Jaypaw is my favorite character because he is really smart and has an amazing connection with Starclan.
Like some of the apprentices in this book, I've gotten new teachers as well. The only difference is they lost their previous ones because theirs died or went missing. I have several text-to-self connections to this book. First, I love to swim and so do Riverclan cats. Second, I own two cats. Finally, I've moved before like all of the clans.
I think the whole book was amazing. My personal favorite part was when the three siblings faked a sign from Starclan and Jaypaw summons the three Starclan warriors. My least favorite part was when Lionblaze almost killed Heathertail, but I only chose that because I had to choose something. The only thing I would change about this book is I would make Shadowclan a bit more hostile towards Sol at the end. Anyone who likes cats who hunt and fight will enjoy any book in the Warriors saga.

Long Shadows Review
This book is not all about dark shadows. It contains many light elements. Combining a good storyline with good characters makes this book a definite read. It's name is "dark", but it's heart is pure!
BEST WARRIOR BOOK OUT OF ALL THE BOOKS!
This was the greatest one I've ever read. I stayed up until 11 last night reading this. It is always pulling you into the next chapter. What Squirrelflight does will change the series forever...
