Moonwalk by Michael Jackson
I loved this book. Michael didn't like the public to know alot about his private life but this book gives insight into his humanism, his fears, failures, and triumphs. It was written before he went into semi seclusion, dropping out of the spotlight.
He was a genious who was misunderstood as most of his caliber are. He drew on his talent to create music, dance, and performances of new dimensions. It makes me feel sorrow for his tragic end.
If you are a fan of Michael or just curious about him, this is a must read book.
A Must Have for any MJ Fan!
This book was great! I could hardly put it down. It really gives the reader a true insight into the real Michael Jackson. This truly is a must have for any avid fan of MJ's.
Michael Jacksons Moonwalk
This book excels beyond greatness its his story in his own words. Any Fan or someone with an open mind looking to get into Michael Jackson. this book is for you.
I loved it cause its his words about himself no one Else's book can say the same about him after reading this book all i can say it was great..R.I.P Michael You will always be King Love you more.
Michael Jackson the human being.
The interesting thing about this book from a music fan perspective is that Michael describes the music industry and the process of creating music so well, it makes you understand and appreciate the hard labor he went through and the time it took writing, composing, producing and up to the end of performing a single song.
His life was all about hard work, even from the time most of us didn't understand the meaning of work he was doing it and it took its toll on him mentally...and then all his life he was judged for it. How can anyone have this kind of a childhood where your whole family is depending on you day and night year after year and the only true understanding you get from it is that you are so special that your life is really the property of everyone else and not yours. And when you try to break free from it and create a safe place for yourself where you are in charge and able to do the things you missed out on, then the world decides they have the knowledge or the permission to judge you for it.
What saddens me when reading his story is the fact that he was never allowed to be himself unless he was inside a highly protected zone...people always wanted something from him as if he didn't give enough with all of his brilliant music, performances not to mention all the gifts he gave to the sick and deprived..Common people, how much more do you want! Do you have to scream and mob someone who has given you all this...does it give you the right to invade their privacy or to judge them...no it doesn't.
If one of my children ever decides to enter the world of show business I will tell them the good part and bad part of Michael Jacksons story, and ask them to read this book to understand what it can cost to be a star.
Michael Jackson was a genius, childish yet highly intelligent, had love for everything and the believe everyone were able to be kind and good because he was.
The book Moonwalk gives you a look into his life and you can almost feel the happiness shine through at times...but you can also feel the tears between the lines.
Like rev.Al Sharpton told MJ's children at his memorial "wasn't nothing strange about your Daddy...it was strange what he had to deal with"!
If I ever would have met Mr.Jackson I would have wanted to tell him this: Thank you for your sacrifice, it has made alot of people happy and tought alot of people love, hopefully it gives you some sort of comfort for giving us your life.
Little Substance
Unfortunately this book only delves a little into Michael's view of his life as an entertainer. It's a pretty simplisticly told summary of how MJ got his start, but it's not an especially exciting or interesting one. I only see the value of this as a collector's item after his death because we don't find out much more about him than we probably already knew. Oh, and the pictures are nice. Would I buy it again? Sorry to say, probably not.
